|ES| Elite Soldiers was formed in March of 2001 as an Aliens vs. Predator Gold Edition clan. This is our Clan history.

BEFORE |ES|

Before |ES| was formed, the Founders of |ES| were all members of SS Species Slayers Clan together. SS was created in 1997 as an Aliens vs. Predator (Original Edition) clan. The Leader of SS at this time was Flyer, the second Leader of SS after the Founder, DEATHCRY left.

Back in those early days, clans were rare and extremely competitive. Being recruited by a clan was a major accomplishment for any player. Being a member of SS was a badge of honor and a source of pride for all who wore the tags.

By early 2001, SS had grown to over 80 active members and was one of the major elite clans in AvP/AvPGE, with a long and proud history of excellence in gaming skills, organization, dedication and friendships among its members.

Over time, Flyer and other clan officers became less involved in day-to day clan activities. There were power struggles within the clan over organization, ranks and how much power members had over other members.

As a result, lower ranked members and recruits had no clear leadership to guide them. Organization broke down, squads and teams fell apart and weren't rebuilt. Training stopped. Recruiting dropped in quality. Without leadership and organization, it became obvious to the future Founders of |ES| that SS, as we had known it, had changed.


CREATION OF |ES|

In March of 2001, a group of SS Officers decided to form a new clan and created |ES| Elite Soldiers Clan. The Founders of |ES| are: BuckShot, Chaos, Fallen, Rafi (|ES|REDRUM), Reaper, Soulja, Trek, Uzeal and Woody. Our first recruit was Iceman(|ES|Zombie).

The Founders of |ES| understood what had gone wrong with SS and set up |ES| so that safeguards are built into the Clan structure. We founded |ES| on these basic principles, which have served the Clan well over the years:

1. The mission of |ES| is to play at the elite level, improve ourselves, improve the Clan and develop a community of clanmates and friends.
2. |ES| must recruit at a high level, train hard and play hard to improve their skills so that the Clan will always have an organized, highly skilled force of members for clan gaming, public gaming and amateur or semi/professional competition.
3. Leadership is decentralized and is always accessible to all members. Leadership is based on responsibility and dedication to the Clan, not power.
4. |ES| is a multi-gaming clan. Expanding to new games keeps members active and increases our gaming experience, knowledge and skills.
5. The organization of |ES| is flexible and will adapt to changing circumstances as necessary.
6. Members must depend on each other and work together for |ES| to function effectively.


ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF |ES|

There have been six Leaders of |ES| in the history of the Clan, four have been Founders. Trek and Fallen were co-Leaders when the Clan was created. Fallen left the Clan in May 2001. Trek was Clan Leader until he promoted Woody to co-Leader in August 2001. Trek then left the Clan in November 2001 to serve in the First Gulf War. Woody was Clan Leader until Trek returned in June of 2002. The Clan had changed dramatically while Trek was gone, and his return to co-Leader did not work out. Trek left the Clan in late 2002. Woody was Clan Leader until he promoted REDRUM to co-Leader in September of 2002. Woody promoted Zombie to co-Leader in 2003 while REDRUM was on leave of absence. Zombie stepped down from co-Leader in late 2003. Woody and REDRUM were co-Leaders until September of 2004 when Woody left the Clan. REDRUM was the single Clan Leader from September of 2004 until September of 2009 when he appointed taco788 to co-Leader. taco788 stepped down as co-Leader in December 2009. REDRUM is the current single Clan Leader.

LEGACY OF |ES|

Since the Clan was founded, there have been many changes. The games change, the members change, the organization changes and the leadership changes. But through it all, the Clan has thrived. The Clan membership is more skilled, knowledgeable and dedicated than it has ever been. |ES| provides the widest range and highest quality of services in Clan history for our members, including gameserver, voiceserver and website services.

Now in our 9th year, |ES| is strong. We remember our past while looking forward to the future. |ES| has a long and proud history of excellence in gaming skills, organization, dedication and friendships among its members. Membership in |ES| Elite Soldiers is badge of honor and a source of pride for all who wear the tags. With a lot of hard work and a little luck, we will continue to work to fulfill the promise of our Clan Motto: |ES|4LIFE
